This "Trick Dog" cast iron mechanical bank was introduced and patented in 1888 and enjoyed a period of popularity for its colorful depiction of a clown's dog act. Hubley reissued the 8-1/2"-wide by 7-1/8"-tall piece in 1929 in a darker paint scheme and with the elimination of an unnecessary base plate. This is a very impressive survivor from that 1929 release. The bank's most notable paint wear appears upon the clown's chin, at the coin's impact area within the red barrel's entry slot, and in the left front of the bank's lowest edge. It is exceptional, both in look and in its state of preservation, and it is fully working. Put the coin in the little dog's mouth, then push the release lever and the canine performer leaps through the hoop and deposits his treasure.

JS Antique wooden hobby horse, this wooden children's "hobby horse" is American and retains its original paint. Hobby Horses where used by Children in the Victorian era. This Hobby Horse or rocking horse is in as found original condition,original worn leather seat . The base has stenciling over the original salmon paint. Mid to late 19th century. The over all measurements are 28 11/2' to top of the head 36 inches long. 13 and one half inches wide.
