GM1 Exceptional 18th century Eastern Shore, Virginia original blue and white painted raised panel Clothes / Linen Press adorned with two raised panel doors, each with two panels, over one long panel below the doors. Each end is adorned with two large, raised panels. Cupboard rests on an applied bracket base with nice cut out feet. Top is surrounded by crown molding. All of the rails and tenons are mortised and secured with wooden pegs. The doors are attached with their original snipe hinges. A wooden turn knob at the top secures the doors closed. The extensive wear around this knob is evidence of many years of use. The wood is yellow pine. Rosehead nail and wooden pegged construction. Circa 1740s-1760s.
Measurements: 39 ½” wide x 20 ¾” deep x 65” tall.
