M180 19th century Pennsylvania wallpaper Hat Box or Bandbox – identified inside the lid “Miss Fannie S. Reist”. The oval pasteboard box is covered on the exterior with wallpaper bearing linear stripes with a floral pattern on a tan background. Interior is covered with a two-toned tan printed wallpaper. An original tassel remains in place on front of box.
Measurements: 13 5/8” wide x 11” oval x 10” tall.
(NOTE: Research indicates there is a “Fannie S. Franck Reist (1850-1898)” buried in the Kauffman’s Mennonite Church Cemetery, Manheim, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania – not far from where this box was obtained.)
