M306 19th century Pennsylvania gathering basket in early old lipstick red paint. Single wrapped, double rim with tightly woven sides. Steamed and bent, notched handle is woven into the sides. Evidence of very early home / "make-do" repairs on the basket's bottom appears to have been for reinforcement purposes. Basket has losses but is sturdy and displays great!
The 12 ½” x 13 ½” diameter opening tapers down to a 7 ½” square base. Sides are 7 ½” tall. Overall height at handle is 13” tall.
