M319 Beautiful mid-19th century fourteen (14) tin Pennsylvania Pie Safe with original red painted surface. All tins are original – with each tin featuring geometric circular patterns in the center with quarter circles in each corner. The sides are made of four (4) conjoined individual tins that appear as one solid tin. Nice, applied molding around the top, distinct beaded edges along the doors, and applied molding surrounds the tin panels. The case of the Pie Safe is mortised and pegged and rests on tall, full height tapered legs. The interior retains old natural patina. The wood is pine with pegged and square head nail construction. Circa 1850s.
Measurements: 42” wide x 18” deep x 60 ¼” tall. There is 16” clearance from bottom of case to floor.
