Wood Boxes and Bins

RM1630 Early wooden box grater with drawer retaining its original dry green painted surface. Grater boasts a hand punched perforated, heavy metal grater surface over a sturdy full length functional drawer that slides in and out without problems and has a small knob for easy opening/closing. A cut-out handle  with hole for hanging purposes and shaped ends by the drawer opening add to the visual appeal to this functional kitchen necessity. Great wear indicative of age and use. The wood is pine – with small wire nail construction. Circa 1880s – 1900.

Measurements:15 5/8” long x7 1/8” wide x 4” tall. Maker also attached a 5/8” wide strip of wood across the back to slightly elevate the upper end of the grater when in use.
