RM1649 Large rectangular 19th century gathering basket in original black paint. This sturdy woven basket boasts double steamed and bent rims that are single wrapped, a thick, steamed and bent handle that is notched and woven into the sides of the basket, and thick steamed and bent slats on each end of the bottom that are woven into the sides and act as ‘feet’ for the basket to rest on. Minor losses from age and use, but still a sturdy basket that displays beautifully.
Measurements: 27" long x 18" wide. Sides are ~8”- 9” tall, depending on where measured. ~14” tall at handle.
