RM460 Civil War Confederate Cavalry Sword
RM460  Historic Confederate captured and re-issued Model 1840 Ames 1851 dated Heavy Cavalry sword with Confederate brass mounted scabbard. The sword hilt was re-wrapped with copper wire (as most CS swords are) when CS scabbard was made to fit the sword. The scabbard is very strong with lap seam, original finish and beautiful brass hardware. Overall length 41 1/2 inches or 105 cm without scabbard. Both sides of blade has a mark. One side has a mark "AMES MFG. CO CABOTVILLE 1851." Other side of blade has a mark of US A. D. K.
