Civil War Temporary Wooden Grave Marker for a Soldier Killed in Action,Made in a Hurry ,and Replaced later with the Stone Head. It reads " George W. Scott, 1863".one of the rarest and most poignant of all Civil War artifacts. The marker was returned to the family when the body was brought home for burial. found in the area of Gettysburg PA. One of only a handful of existing specimens.
