P139 Important Southern 18th century open top stepback corner cupboard, from  Cumberland County North Carolina, one piece southern heart pine,  rose head nail construction, This cupboard retains it original dry red painted case, with blue picture frame molding and blue interior. Single plank door with baton held in place with rose head nails, with blacksmith made H hinges. The opening of the cupboard is canted, with four shelves as well as a canted door, at the bottom ( wider at the bottom  and nearer at the top). This rare cupboard was found  in the 1980’s out of a private estate in the town of Fayetteville N.C. not many pieces of Furniture this early survive the Civil War, this is a rare form and style one of a kind. First time on the market Circa 1750
